FRIENDS AWA' (R8x32) 3C (4C set) Brian Charlton Waratah Collection

1- 8 1s, followed by 2s, dance down below 3s, cast up, meet and dance up. 1s cast to 2nd place own sides, 2s end in 1st place facing out
9-16 1s cross down RH through 3rd place to dance mirror reels of 3 on opposite sides (3s out/up, 2s out/down). All give hands in reels. 2s and 3s curve into place at end of reel
17-24 1s dance ½ Figs 8 (1L round 2s, 1M round 3s). 2s+1s+3s turn partners RH
25-32 2s+1s+3s circle 6H round and back

Friends Awa' A 32 Bar Reel For 3 Couples In A 4 Couple Set.

1 - 8 1st couple, followed by 2nd couple dance down between 3rd couple, divide, cast up behind 3rd couple, dance up and cast off the second place on own sides. 2nd couple finish in first place facing out.
9 - 16 1st couple dance reels of three on the opposite sides, giving right hands to cross down through third place, 3rd couple dance out and up, 2nd couple dance out and down. All take hands with partners in the reels. 2nd and 3rd couples finish the reels by curving into place.
17 - 20 1st woman dances a half figure of eight through 2nd couple while 1st man dances a half figure of eight through 3rd couple.
21 - 24 2nd, 1st and 3rd couples, giving right hands, turn partners once round.
25 - 32 2nd, 1st and 3rd couples dance six hands round and back.

Repeat having passed a couple.

Dance Information

This reel, Friends Awa', was written for Anne Welsh on her return to Canada after twelve months in Sydney visiting her daughter and family.

Caringbah Club members were delighted to have her dance with them on Friday evenings.
