GENERAL RITCHIE'S REEL (J8x32) 3C (4C set) B Campbell Glasgow Assembly and Other SCDs1- 8 1s cross RH and cast 1 place, ΒΌ turn RH and 1s dance up/down between 2s/3s and cast round 2nd corner to face 1st corner (BtoB with partner)
9-16 1s set to 1st corner turning R about to face partner and turn partner RH, retaining hands Balance-in-Line with 1st corners and 1s turn RH to face 2nd corners
17-24 1s set to 2nd corner turning R about to face partner and turn partner RH, retaining hands Balance-in-Line with 2nd corners and 1s turn 2nd corner LH to face 1st corner
25-32 1s turn 1st corners RH, pass partner RSh and turn 2nd corners RH and pass RSh to 2nd places

Dance Information
General Sir Neil Methuen Ritchie GBE, KCB, DSO, MC (1897-1983) was a senior British army officer during the Second World War.Ritchie's military career started in 1914 when he was commissioned as an officer in the Black Watch.
After many postings during both the first and second world wars (follow link at the foot of this page for further details) he returned to his old regiment, the Black Watch as colonel in 1950.
Following his retirement he emigrated to Canada.
Robert M Campbell lived in Oakville, Ontario, Canada and devised this dance for General Sir Neil Ritchie, retiring Patron of the Branch.
