Scottish Country Dance Instruction

Gypsy Crown 32 bar Strathspey for three couples in a three-couple longwise set Donna Rynne

1- 8 1st couple set, advancing slightly, and gypsy turn right shoulder around each other and cast to second place (2nd couple step up on bars 5-6) and gypsy turn left shoulder around each other to face 1st corners.
9-16 1st couple and 1st corners set, and gypsy turn right shoulder around each other and flow into a half diagonal reel of four, 1st couple leading and passing partner by the left shoulder in the middle. 1st couple dance in at the ends, acknowledge partner and pull right shoulder back to face 2nd corners. Corners finish in diagonally opposite position.
17-24 1st couple and 2nd corners set, and gypsy turn left shoulder around each other and flow into a half diagonal reel of four, 1st couple leading and passing partner by the right shoulder in the middle, finishing 1st lady between 3rd couple at the top facing down and 1st man between 2nd couple at the bottom facing up. (2nd and 3rd couples opposite sides and ends)
25-32 All three couples set, and 1st couple gypsy turn right shoulder around each other to finish in second place on opposite side. All three couples set and cross over passing right shoulder to own side.
