9-16 2s/1s/3s: dance a reel of 3 on the sides: (1s dance in and down to begin)
17-20 1s: ½ diagonal Rights and lefts with first corners (1W up and 1M down to begin)
21-24 1s: ½ diagonal Rights and Lefts with partner's second corner (1W up and 1M down to begin). All 3 couples face clockwise on bar 24
25-32 3s/1s/2s: chase halfway: set: 1s cross RH to 2nd place own sides

1- 8 1st couple lead down the middle for three steps: lead up for three steps: cast off to 2nd place: 2nd couple step up on bars 7 & 8.
9-16 2nd, 1st and 3rd couples dance a reel of three on the sides: 1st couple dance in & down to begin, as 3rd couple dance out & up and 2nd couple dance out & down.
17-20 1st couple and their 1st corners dance half diagonal Rights and Lefts: (1W with 2M & 1M with 3W): 1st couple finish in second place on opposite sides
21-24 1st couple and their partner's second corner dance half diagonal Rights and Lefts: (1W with 2W & 1M with 3M): order: 3 1 2, with 1st couple on own sides and 3rd & 2nd couples on opposite sides. All three couples face clockwise on bar 24
25-32 3rd. 1st 2nd couples chase halfway: All: set: 1st couple cross giving right hands to own sides in second place.

This jig, Hailin' Harris, was devised by Deirdre MacCuish Bark for the Tarbert, Isle of Harris dancers, who meet at the Harris Hotel on Wednesday nights. Every year (excepting 2020!), Deirdre and her husband spend time in her childhood haunt, and ancestral home, the Isle of Harris. When there, they dance with the local group -- whose dancing genre is far removed from RSCDS, but they have fun.The title was suggested after a particularly heavy hail storm.
