Dance Information

The Hatton Diamonds is a Scottish country dance created by Andrew Roberts to mark the diamond wedding anniversary of Sandy and Mary Reid of Hatton, celebrated on 30 November 2023.

In order to preserve the surprise for the couple, the dance was first introduced under the temporary title "The Infamous Grouse".

This reel was devised specifically for the occasion and reflects the tradition of composing dances to commemorate significant milestones. The choice of name during its early teaching ensured that the true purpose of the dance remained hidden until the anniversary celebration itself.
