Scottish Country Dance Instruction

Part A - Strathspey
1- 8 All set to partners with suitable Highland Strathspey steps
9-16 All dance halfway Axum Reel:
 9-10 All couples pass LSh, Men to partner's "outer" positions, 1L/3L veering left to 2M/4M positions, 2L/4L straight ahead to 3M/1M positions
 11-16 Repeat 3 times from new positions all ending diagonally opposite starting positions
17-24 All set to partners with suitable Highland Strathspey steps
25-32 Repeat bars 9-16 to dance back to original positions

Part B - Reel
1- 2 1M+2L also 4L+3M set advancing while 1L+2M also 4M+3L step back diagonally right. 1s+2s also 3s+4s finish in lines of 4 across the dance
3- 4 1M+2L also 4L+3M set turning on spot (pulling back RSh)
5- 8 1M+2L also 4L+3M set and 4 spring points to finish facing each other across the dance
9-11 1M+2L also 4L+3M Tulloch turn 1½ times with right arms linked
12 1M+2L also 3M+4L do assemble (jump on the spot landing with right foot in front, 3rd position) and change (jump on the spot landing with left foot in front)
13-16 1M+2L also 4L+3M Tulloch turn 2 times with left arms linked to finish facing outside person
17-24 All set to person facing with suitable Highland reel steps (2M+1M, 2L+1L, 3L+4L, 3M+4M)
25-32 1L+2L+3M+4M also 1M+2M+3L+4L dance RH across and LH back
33-40 Centre dancers 1L+2M also 4M+3L set with suitable Highland reel steps
41-48 1L+2M also 4M+3L repeat Part B bars 9-16
49-56 All set to partners with suitable Highland reel steps
57-64 All circle 8H round and back
