Scottish Country Dance Instruction

Highland Gypsy 8X32 Reel for 3 couples in a 4 couple set by Sue McKinnell 2005

1- 8 1C cross RH, cast one place as 2C step up, cross LH, and cast left to end 1W in the center above 2C and 1M in the center below 3C. 3C step up to 2nd place on bars 7-8.
9-16 1C, 2C, and 3C dance 6 bars of inverting double triangles. On the last two bars, 2C complete the figure to return to 1st position, 3C set in place to remain in 3rd position, and 1C dance RS to RS (gypsy) to end facing 1st corners.
17-24 1C dance corner pass and turn with 1st corners, pass RS to face 2nd corners, dance corner pass and turn with 2nd corners, then dance RS to RS (gypsy) to end facing out the ends, 1W down and 1M up.
25-32 1C dance six bar reels of three on the sides with corners, beginning by passing 2nd corner right shoulder. On the last 2 bars, 1C cross RH to own sides.

Repeat.
