Scottish Country Dance Instruction

1- 8 1s+3s set, cross RH and cast (2s and 4s remain in place). 1s+3s turn partner RH to finish BtoB in the middle facing 2s and 4s (1M+3M facing 2L and 4L, 1L+3L facing 2M+4M)
9-12 1s+3s dance 4 bars of the Spurtle with the 2s+4s (2s finish in 1st, 4s in 3rd place while 1s+3s move down to 3rd and 5th places) Finish 1L+1M facing 4L+4M, 3L+3M facing 5L+5M)
13-16 1s+3s dance ½ RSh reels of 4 across the dance (4s+5s dance normal ½ reels of 4 finishing in 3rd and 5th places but when 1M and 3M pass partners LSh the Ladies dance into Tandem position behind partner facing 1st corner positions on Men's side)
17-24 1M+3M followed by partners dance full RSh diagonal Alternating Tandem reels of 3 with 1st corners and end facing Ladies 2nd corner position
25-32 1M+3M followed by partners dance full RSh diagonal Alternating Tandem reels of 3 with 2nd corners. At end 1s and 3s join hands with partner in the middle of the set in 2nd and 4th positions on bar 31. On bar 32 the Ladies turn left under Men's arm to face couples below (4s and 5s) while men face couples above (2s and 4s)
33-36 1M+2s dance ½ RH across and 1M casts to 2nd place on Ladies' side
 while 3L+5s dance ½ RH and 3L casts up to 4th place
 while 1L+3M+4s dance RH across once round. End: 1L dances out to 2nd place Men' side, 4s dance back to 3rd place on own side, 3M to 4th place opposite side
37-40 1s+3s cross LH and cast to 3rd/5th places. 24153
