Janet Scott Swanston's Jig (J8x32) 3C (4C set) Lewis N Derrick 20211- 4 All clap while the 1st couple cross over passing right shoulders without giving hands and cast off one place on opposite sides; the second couple step up on bars 3-4
5- 8 The 1st woman turns the 3rd man by the right hand while the 1st man turns the 3rd woman by the left hand
9-16 The 2nd, 1st and 3rd couples dance mirror reels of three, giving nearer hands to partners wherever possible, the 1st couple dance in and up to begin and end in second place on opposite sides
17-20 The 1st woman turns the 2nd man by the left hand while the 1st man turns the 2nd woman by the right hand; 1st couple end in second place
21-24 All clap while the 1st couple cross over passing left shoulders without giving hands and cast up one place on own sides; the second couple step down on bars 23-24
25-32 The 1st and 2nd couples change places with an allemande

Janet Scott Swanston was born in Cavers, Roxburghshire in Scotland on 02 Apr 1858 to George Swanston and Margaret Blake, married John McGhie and had 2 children, Margaret Mcghie and Thomas Mcghie.
