Dance Notes

Set and Rotate for Three Couples: This figure, used a few years ago by Barry Skelton, follows the same principle as Set and Rotate for Two Couples.
Men cast up and across the top, ladies cast off and across in third place, Second and third couples are on the sides, first couple in the middle.
All change with partner giving right hand and chase back to own sides in changed places.

Dance Information

This dance is dedicated to the many friends from Kamo and Whangarei SCD clubs who have helped me try out dances at Kamo.

Suggested music: The Travelling Dancers, David South on Kardinia Capers CD.

Suggested tune: The Bugle Call Two-Step or Sporty Boys (same tune by Felix Burns with two names)

Kamo is a small community (population around 8,000) in New Zealand. It lies a short distance north of central Whangarei which is the most northern city in NZ. Whangarei city boundaries have included Kamo since the 1960s. The name Kamo is a Māori word for eyelash, but has it also been thought to mean "bubble up", as there are hot springs in the locality.

The Kamo Karousel was dedicated to dancers at Whangarei and Kamo Scottish Country Dance clubs.
