Dance Information

Kiloran Bay is located on the north-west coast of Colonsay, an island in the Inner Hebrides of Scotland, within the council area of Argyll and Bute.

The bay is approximately 1 kilometre wide and faces west into the Atlantic Ocean. It is backed by sand dunes and surrounded by low hills. The beach is composed mainly of sand with some rocky areas at the edges.

Kiloran Bay is accessible by a single-track road from Scalasaig, the island's main settlement, which lies about 3 miles to the south-east. The bay lies close to the small settlement of Uragaig, situated to the north-east. Colonsay and its neighbouring tidal island, Oronsay, are connected at low tide by a sand and mud causeway known as The Strand.
