Dance Information

"Licence to Reel" is probably a wordplay on Licence to Kill, the title of the 1989 James Bond film starring Timothy Dalton.

The phrase cleverly substitutes "Reel" for "Kill", creating a pun that retains the structure and rhythm of the original title while changing its meaning.

In Licence to Kill, the word "Licence" refers to James Bond's government-issued "Licence to Kill", granting him the authority to eliminate enemies of the state. The word "Kill" conveys the deadly nature of his work as a secret agent.
