Dance Information

Linktown is a suburb located to the south of Kirkcaldy, in Fife, Scotland.

It is situated just outside the town centre of Kirkcaldy, a coastal town in Fife. The area lies to the south of Kirkcaldy's main urban area and is predominantly a residential area.

Kirkcaldy has long been known by the nickname the Lang Toun (Scots for "long town"), referring to the town's original main street, which was 0.9 miles (1.4 km) long, as shown on maps from the 16th and 17th centuries.

Over time, the street expanded, eventually reaching nearly four miles (six kilometres) in length, linking the town to neighbouring settlements such as Linktown, Pathhead, Sinclairtown, and Gallatown, all of which became part of Kirkcaldy in 1876. The former burgh of Dysart was also incorporated into Kirkcaldy in 1930 following an act of Parliament.
