Mettle in Yer Heels
Maggie and Duncan Keppie Burns Night In The Annapolis Valley:
4x32 bar Jig
One long set with couples numbered 1-2, 1-2, etc.
(may be danced as a round-the-room dance, men on inner circle, women on the outer circle)

  1-8   WHEELS: 1st and 2nd couples dance rights hands across and back with the left hands, ending with 1st man facing out;

  9-16 CHASE AND DANCE UP THE MIDDLE: 1st man, followed by his partner, cast off 3 places, then 1st man dances into the middle, joins nearer hands with partner and dance up the middle to between 2nd couple (who face up) joining nearer hands to form a line of 4 across the set (2nd man - 1st woman - 1st man - 2nd woman);

17-24 UP-AND-DOWN: all dance up and down the middle (1st couple turn outwards to return): 2nd couple end in 1st place;

25-32 1ST COUPLE SOLO: 1st couple cross over and dance ½ figure of 8 around 2nd couple, dance down the middle to 2nd place, and set to each other.

Repeat with next couple.
