Scottish Country Dance Instruction
The Muga Reel (R8x32) 3C (4C set) 32 bar Reel for 3 Couples in a 4 Couple Set, devised by Ruth MacInnes and Peter Jamieson (2021).1- 8 1st couple cross down right hand, 2nd couple step up
1st couple retain right hands and set, joined left hands with 2nd and 3rd couples as if ready for left hands across on opposite side
1st couple dance half turn right hand and set again, keeping left hands joined with 2nd and 3rd couples
9-16 All dance left hands across on own sides
1st couple pass right shoulder through 2nd corner position and snake up or down opposite sides to finish 1st woman and 1st man facing down and up in centre, 3rd and 2nd couples on opposite sides
17-24 1st couple pass left shoulder into right hands across on sides with 3rd and 2nd couples
1st couple pass left shoulder through 3rd corner position and snake up or down own sides to finish facing down and up in centre, 2nd and 3rd couples on own sides
25-32 1st couple set and turn partner ¾ right hand
Meanwhile, 2nd and 3rd couples dance half Lefts and Rights starting on the sides
All chase clockwise halfway. 213
