Dance Information

The "Mystery of the Star Sapphire" can refer to a couple of different stories in the realm of comics and animated features, particularly involving the DC Comics character Green Lantern. Here's a breakdown of the most notable ones:

1. Green Lantern Comic Book (Silver Age): In the DC Comics universe, "Mystery of the Star Sapphire" is a title of a comic book story featuring Green Lantern (Hal Jordan) that appears in Green Lantern vol. 2 #16, published in October 1962. This story introduces the Star Sapphire, who later becomes a significant recurring character. Star Sapphires are named after the violet power ring they wield, which is powered by the emotion of love. In this particular comic, Carol Ferris, Hal Jordan's love interest, is transformed into the Star Sapphire by the Zamarons (a race of extraterrestrial women). The story revolves around her battles with Green Lantern, under the influence of the Star Sapphire gem.

2. Justice League Animated Series: There is an episode titled "Mystery of the Star Sapphire" from the animated series "The Batman" (specifically Season 5, Episode 8). In this episode, different characters from the DC universe, including Green Lantern, Batman, and Wonder Woman, come into play. The episode deals with the appearance of Star Sapphire and highlights her powers and conflict with the heroes.

Both versions focus on the character of Star Sapphire, a title that has been used by multiple characters in the DC universe, most notably by Carol Ferris. The Star Sapphires, as a group, are part of the larger emotional spectrum used throughout the Green Lantern stories, where different corps harness different colors and emotions. The Star Sapphires use the violet rings powered by the emotion of love, and their stories explore themes of love, obsession, and power.

A Star sapphire is a type of sapphire gemstone that exhibits a star-like reflection of light (an asterism).
