Dance Information
This strathspey is from the Laurieston Collection of dances by Alice McLean. Laurieston is a district in the Gorbals area situated south of the River Clyde, in the Scottish city of Glasgow."Nae chance" is a Scots phrase that translates to "no chance" in Standard English.
It is used to express a strong disbelief in the likelihood or possibility of something happening. Essentially, it's a way of saying that something is very unlikely or impossible.
For example, if someone asked if it might stop raining during a particularly stormy day in Scotland, a response might be, "Nae chance," indicating that the rain is expected to continue.
