Scottish Country Dance Instruction

NELLIE'S JIG (J4x48) Sq.Set Graham Quartly

1- 8 1s+3s dance R&L (ending with polite turn to face in)
9-16 1s+3s set, pull back RSh and cast to left, dance behind side couple and round to face them (1M facing 2L, 1L facing 2M, 3M facing 4L, 3L facing 4M)
17-24 1s+2s also 3s+4s dance RH across, end facing the same people; All dance ½ RSh reels of four across
25-32 Repeat bars 17-24
33-40 All join hands with partners and set (1s facing 2s, 3s facing 4s),1s+2s also 3s+4s circle 4H round to left (4 bars), then 2M, 4M drop left hand and lead out into a circle (2s now in 3rd place, 4s in 1st place)
41-48 All circle 8H round and back. 4123

9-16 1s+3s set and cast to left (i.e. pulling R Sh back) dance behind side couple and round to face them (1M facing 2L, 1L facing 2M, 3M facing 4L, 3L facing 4M)
17-24 1s+2s also 3s+4s Right Hands across, end facing the same people, and then two parallel half reels of four
25-32 Repeat bars 17-24
33-40 All, taking hands with partners, set (1s facing 2s, 3s facing 4s); 1s+2s also 3s+4s circle to left once round (4 bars), then 2M, 4M dropping their left hand lead out into a big circle (2s now in 3rd place, 4s in 1st place)
41-48 All circle round and back
