THE NEWBY CIRCLE (R32) Round The Room Derek Haynes Carnforth Collection 2
Round the room dance, 2 facing 2, 1s are the couple facing clockwise

1- 8 1s dance Fig of 8 around 2s (1L giving LSh to 2L and 1M giving RSh to 2M). Note: 1s give hands when passing between 2s LH and then RH
9-16 2s repeat dancing round 1s
17-24 All dance R&L (2s omitting polite turn to face out)
25-32 1s in prom hold dance reel of 3 with 2s giving RSh to 2M to start and on last bar 1s dance between 2s to face next couple as 2s dance on

Reel n x 32 bars 2 Couple Repeat 2 Couple Set Progressive Round the Room Set
1s face 2s around the room, 1s going clockwise, 2s anticlockwise.

  1-8   1s cross down into figures of 8 round 2s;

  9-16 2s cross up into figures of 8 round 1s;

17-24 1s2s rights and lefts, going up and down to start, finishing 1s in promenade hold facing down, 2s facing out;

25-30 1s, giving right shoulder to 2M, promenade reel of three with 2s;

31-32 1s, changing to nearer hands, lead between 2s to meet new 2s WHILE 2s cast anticlockwise to meet the new 1s.

Dance Notes

  1-     1s take left hands to cross down.

  5-     1s take right hands to cross up.

  9-     2s take left hands to cross up.

13-     2s take right hands to cross down.

25-     2M pull right shoulder back, 2L left, to flow into the reel.
