Strathspey 64 bars 4 Couple Repeat 4 Couple Set Square Set
1-2 1s 3s take nearer hands with partners and set;
3-8 1s3s dance la baratte, all finishing facing out:
3-4 1M3L 1L3M cross by the right and retain hold with arms fully extended;
5-5 1M3L 1L3M cross halfway back, raising right arms so that each L can dance under the M's right arm and take left hands with him, finishing in line across, Mn behind Ls, 1M with back to the 2s side, 3M with back to the 4s side;
6-6 1M3L 1L3M continue to cross, releasing right arms and raising left hands so that each L can dance under the M's left arm, finishing by retaining left hand hold with arms fully extended;
7-8 1M3L 1L3M cross by the left, finishing in the other's original place, facing out;
9-12 1M2M 3M4M turn by the left WHILE 1L4L 3L2L turn by the right, all finishing facing partners;
13-14 all set to partners;
15-16 all turn partners with both hands;
17-24 2s dancing as 1s, 3s as 2s, 4s as 3s, 1s as 4s, repeat bars 1-8;
25-28 2L3M 4L1M turn by the right WHILE 1L4LM 3L2L turn by the left, all finishing facing partners;
29-30 all set to partners;
31-32 all turn partners with both hands, finishing all on opposite sides, Mn facing out, Ls in, each M on partner's right;
33-38 Mn cast to the right following Ls into ¾ of interlocking reels of 4 (left hands across in centre), finishing with Ls facing out;
39-40 all continue a modified last ¼ of the interlocking reels of 4, Mn with left hands across halfway and finishing facing anticlockwise WHILE Ls cast in a more open loop, all finishing facing the approaching second corner;
41-42 1L2M 2L3M 3L4M 4L1M take right hands and turn into promenade hold facing clockwise;
43-46 all promenade clockwise halfway around the set and release hands;
47-48 Mn continue to dance clockwise to original places WHILE Ls pull right shoulder back to dance anticlockwise inside the set to original places, finishing with all pulling right shoulder back to face partners;
49-56 all dance modified crescent reels of 4 with turns rather than loops at the ends:
49-50 all turn partners with both hands, opening out to finish back-to-back, facing first corners;
51-52 all pass first corners by the left, finishing facing the next dancer;
53-54 all turn the approaching dancer with both hands, opening out to finish back-to-back;
55-56 all pass first corners by the left, finishing in original places, facing in;
57-58 all take nearer hands with partner and set;
59-61 all 8 hands round to the left;
62-62 all release hands, advance toward the centre of the set and pull right shoulder back to face out;
63-64 all chase clockwise to original places.

Dance Notes
9-12 Use the outside hand when facing out to turn the adjacent corner, M to M, L to L.
25-28 Use the outside hand when facing out to turn the adjacent corner, M to L; note that you have to meet him/her again on bar 41 for the promenade.
39-42 The modified ending of the interlocking reels of 4 is as in bars 23-26 of The Bonnie Lass o' Bon Accord but here the second corners then turn into promenade rather than allemande hold and face clockwise rather than anticlockwise.
43-46 Although the dancers promenade clockwise here rather than allemande anticlockwise as in bars 25-30 of The Bonnie Lass O' Bon Accord, the finishing point where they release hands is the same, halfway between their original places.
53-54 The dancer you turn is the one originally opposite you with whom you danced la baratte.
