OUR BERBER BLESSING (J8x32) 3C (4C set) Murrough Landon, 2022

1- 8 1s cross RH and cast (2s step up); 1s dance ½ Figs 8 (1M up round 2s, 1L down round 3s)
9-16 2M+2s also 1L+3s dance LH across; pass LSh and dance RH across with other couple. All end in promenade hold facing up. 213
17-24 2s+1s+3s dance 6 bars of Allemande, face partner and cross RH with partner to opposite side. (3)(1)(2)
25-32 All chase ½ round clockwise to own side; all turn partner RH

Our Berber Blessing (8x32J) 32 bar jig for three couples in a four couple longwise set, Murrough Landon, 2022

1-4 1st couple cross giving right hands and cast off one place as 2nd couple step up.
5-8 1st couple dance half a figure of eight, 1st man up round 2nd man and 1st woman down round 3rd woman. They end on the centre line, right shoulder to partner.
9-16 1st man with 2nd couple and 1st woman with 3rd couple dance left hands across. 1st couple pass left shoulder and dance right hands across with the other couple. 2nd and 3rd couples retain right hands as 1st couple come together in the centre and all end in promenade hold facing up.
17-22 2nd, 1st and 3rd couples dance the first six bars of a three couple allemande and end facing each other in the centre.
23-24 All cross right hands to end on the opposite sides facing clockwise.
25-28 All chase half way round clockwise.
29-32 All turn partner with the right hand to end in the order 2,1,3.

Dance Information

For Nayma Genin who wanted a dance with lots of energy and an allemande. Nayma grew up in the Berber speaking region of Morocco where her name means "blessing".
