Dance Information

This dance was dedicated to Charlene Lam, who spent many years as a member of the Livermore Class in the San Francisco Branch of the Royal Scottish Country Dance Society. Her enthusiasm for Scottish dancing and her ever-positive spirit brought joy to everyone around her.

Her passing came too soon and was deeply felt by those who knew her. In her memory, Charlene's husband, David Chang, launched a dance devising competition in 2024 to celebrate her life and love of the dance.

The winning entry, a 40-bar reel choreographed by Mark Burt, was selected to honour Charlene. As a prize, Mark received two tickets to the 2025 Asilomar Weekend. A new tune for the dance was specially composed by James MacQueen.
