Meteorologically, the term "out of the blue" is fitting when referring to lightning strikes. Lightning can materialize suddenly, seemingly without warning, during thunderstorms. This phenomenon occurs due to the discharge of electrical energy in the atmosphere, resulting in the rapid and visible illumination of the sky. Despite advancements in meteorological forecasting, the instantaneous and unpredictable nature of lightning strikes aligns with the notion of events happening out of the blue.
In the realm of finance, unexpected market fluctuations can also be described as occurring out of the blue.
