Dance Notes
Note: Timing is very important on the diagonal reels in this dance. In particular, 1C should reach the center of the dance no earlier than the end of bar 4 to allow the other dancers to cross through the center of the dance before them.

The peony flower, scientifically classified under the Paeonia genus, is a perennial plant native to Asia, Europe, and Western North America.
Known for its large, showy blooms and lush foliage, the peony is cultivated for ornamental purposes in gardens worldwide. The flower comes in a variety of colors, including shades of white, pink, and red. Peonies are valued not only for their aesthetic appeal but also for their longevity, as they can live for decades if properly cared for.
They have been cultivated and admired for centuries, with a rich cultural and historical significance in various societies, often symbolizing wealth, honour, and prosperity. The peony is also recognized for its use in traditional medicine, particularly in certain East Asian cultures.
