THE PHOENIX STRATHSPEY (S3x32) 3C set Jim Haworth Ashmerg SCD

1- 8 Reels of 3 on sides, 2M+3M also 2L+1L pass RSh to start
9-12 2s dance RSh round 4th corner ending BtoB in middle, Man facing down, Lady up
13-16 2M+3s and 2L+1s circle 6H round to left, 2s end facing 1st corners
17-24 2s dance ½ diagonal reel of 4 with 1st corners, ½ diagonal reel of 4 with 2nd corners and ½ turn LH to face 1st corner position
25-28 ½ LSh reels of 3 across. 2s end LSh to LSh in the centre, joining Left Hands facing own sides
29-30 2s ¾ turn LH to face down (1s step up) then...
31-32 2s cross down to 3rd place own sides, to end facing out. 312

Dance Information

This dance, The Phoenix Strathspey, was written for the 60th Wedding Anniversary of Muriel and Wilf Phoenix in 2013.

The number "60" appears in the dance at each end of the set, bars 9-12 trace out the number 6, though written from the bottom and Bars 13-16 trace out the zero.
