THE PLATINUM STRATHSPEY (S3x32) 3C set Margaret Fairgrieve West Lothian 70th Book1- 8 2s cross RH and cast round 1st corner and dance ½ reels of 3 across (2M+3M, 2L+1L pass LSh) ending in lines across
9-16 2s change places RH, cast round 2nd corner (position) and dance ½ reels of 3 on sides ending in 2nd place opposite sides. (3)(2)(1)
17-20 All dance in to join RH with partner, 3s cross RH and cast to 3rd place while 2s cross up and cast to 2nd place while 1s lead up, cross and cast to 1st place
21-24 All turn 2H to end with 3s in 3rd place and 1s+2s in middle ready for...
25-32 1s+2s dance ½ diamond Poussette; 1s+3s dance ½ Diamond Poussette

13-16 This is a left shoulder half-reel.
17-20 The deviser's instructions say 2s lead up to 1st place and cross and cast; 1s likewise.

This dance, The Platinum Strathspey, was dedicated to the deviser's husband Crichton and to other dancer friends who celebrated their 70th birthdays (in 2005).It is traditional on wedding anniversaries to give your partner (or couples) a gift that symbolises the particular anniversary. These gifts are made of different materials for each wedding anniversary.
The wedding anniversary associated with the material 'Platinum' is the 70th.
