Scottish Country Dance Instruction

Quilts And Kilts 32 Bar Reel For 3 Couples In A 4 Couple Set, Trudy Roughgarden.

1-4 1st couple set
 1st couple, giving left hands, turn half way and face down
5-8 1st couple lead down, cross below the 3rd couple, cast up to second place, own sides. (2's up 7,8)
9-16 Reels of 3 across the dance, 1st couple giving left shoulders to their first corners, 1W up between 2nd couple, 1M down between the 3rd couple.
 1st couple end facing their first corners.
17-24 Corner chain with 1st corners
25-32 Corner chain with 2nd corners, 1st couple finishing in 2nd position own sides.

Repeat having passed a couple.

Dance Notes

Corner chain:
 On the first two bars, 1st Couple, Facing their First corners, Turn them halfway By the right, thus exchanging Positions;
 on the next two bars, the Corners Turn by the left, Finishing Facing their Original Positions;
 on the next two bars, 1st Couple Turn their First corners halfway By the right, the
 Corners Finishing in their Original Places and 1st Couple now Facing each other on the First corners' Diagonal;
 on the last two bars, 1st Couple Turn by the left one and a quarter times to Finish Facing their Second corners.
