Scottish Country Dance Instruction

A REEL FOR MARGARET (R8x48) 3C (4C set) Muriel Boal

1 - 8 1s cross down for reel of 3 on opposite side for 6 bars and on last 2 bars 1s with nearer hands joined dance down and finish back to back in double triangles on opposite side. 2s dance up to top and 3s finish in 3rd place. (2s and 3s dance 8 bar reel).
9 - 16 1s dance crown triangles (set move on, set move on and set and move on 3 times) then turn the person on your right RH to finish 1m between 2s facing 2w and 1w between 3s facing 3m.
17 - 24 1s give LS for half reel of 3 across the dance, pass partner RS and face 1st corner position to give RS for half a diagonal reel of 4 finishing in 2nd place on opposite side facing 2nd corner position.
25 - 32 1s give LS to 2nd corner position and dance half reel of 3 on the side, pass partner RS and face 1st corner position to give LS to first corner position for half diagonal reel of 4 finishing in 2nd place on opposite side.
33 - 40 3 couples joining hands on the side set and link for 3 finishing 3s and 3s across the dance all facing clockwise and chase half way round to finish still 3s and 3s across the dance.
41 - 48 3 couples joining hands across the dance set and link for 3 (1s finishing on opposite side) then 3 couples turn partners with RH - 2s and 3s turn once round but 1s turn one and a half times to finish 2, 1, 3.

Repeat from new position.
