The Rifleman
Maggie and Duncan Keppie   Burns Night In The Annapolis Valley:
32 bar reel
Longways set for as many as will.
This is a North Country dance in one long set, men with partners on their right hand side facing another couple across the set as in the Glasgow Highlanders.

  1-4   ADVANCE AND RETIRE: all join hands with partner to advance and retire;

  5-8   PROMENADE OPPOSITE: all advance into the middle again, then the men promenade the opposite woman anticlockwise in a small circle to men ending in original places with the opposite woman on their right hand side;

  9-16 REPEAT bars 1-8;


25-32 TOP TWO COUPLES SLIP: to the bottom of the whole long set, nearer hands joined with partner (other couples clap as they move up).
