Scottish Country Dance Instruction

Strathspey
1- 8 Ladies dance behind partner and into centre, join RH with partner and dance LH across. Ladies leave partner in opposite place, continue LH across back to place and face out
9-16 Ladies dance anticlockwise behind corner to next place and all set; All advance and retire with new partners
17-24 Couples in 1st and 3rd places dance Ladies' Chain
25-32 Couples in 2nd and 4th places dance R&L and finish facing partners on corners
33-40 All couples dance Interlocking reels of 4 (pass partner RSh to start)
41-48 All set to partner, turn RH into prom hold and promenade anticlockwise to original places

Reel
1-16 Repeat Strathspey bars 1-16 but with Men leading
17-24 Couples in 1st and 3rd places dance Men's Chain
25-32 Couples in 2nd and 4th places dance R&L and finish facing partners on corners
33-48 Repeat Strathspey bars 33-48
