as 2s set and cross RH, cast to 4th place and cross RH
as 3s dance Fig of 8 round 2nd positions
as 4s turn RH and cast down and follow 1s up middle to 2nd place. 1432
9-12 4s+3s+2s dance ½ reflection reels of 3 on sides (3s in and down between 2s to start). 1234
13-16 1s+2s+3s dance ½ reflection reels of 3 on sides (2s out and up between 1s to start). 3214
17-24 All set and 3s+2s also 1s+4s dance ½ R&L then all cross RH
25-32 All circle 8H round and back. 2341

Sally Gardens A thirty-two bar Strathspey for four couples in a longwise set. Devised by John W Mitchell, Published in Whetherly Book 11.
1- 8 First couple cast off to fourth place and lead up to first place; whilst second couple set, cross giving right hand, cast off to fourth place and cross giving right hand to finish facing out.
Meanwhile third couple dance a complete figure of eight round second position, commencing by crossing up; at the same time fourth couple turn by the right hand to face out, casting down behind first couple and following first couple up the middle to finish in second place facing out.
9-12 Fourth, third and second couples dance half reels of three on their own side of the set, to start third couple dance in and down, second couple finish facing out.
13-16 First second and third couples dance half reels of three on the side, to start second couple dance out and up.
17-18 All join hands on the side and set.
19-22 Second and third couples dance half rights and lefts, first and fourth couples do the same.
23-24 All cross over giving right hand in passing.
25-32 Eight hands round in a circle to the left and back to the right.
Repeat with new top couple. Recommended tune: Down By The Sally Gardens
