Dance Information

The Sandbach And District Caledonian Society (affiliated to the Lancashire and Cheshire Federation of Scottish Societies) was established in 1958 by Harry Elder.

The society was formally instituted during its inaugural Annual Meeting on October 29th, where Harry was elected as its first President. Regular Scottish dancing sessions have been conducted nearly every Tuesday in Sandbach Literary Institute since its inception.

Following Harry's leadership after 1997, Stuart Ross assumed the role of "Dancing Master", overseeing the dancing activities for over two decades until 2019. Kim Kolodziejczyk, previously involved in assisting Stuart, particularly with beginners and less experienced dancers before the main Tuesday evening sessions, has taken on the role of leading the dancing. The society's current membership stands at approximately 50 individuals.

Sandbach, located in the Cheshire East borough of Cheshire, England, is a market town and civil parish. The civil parish encompasses four settlements: Sandbach, Elworth, Ettiley Heath, and Wheelock. Positioned in proximity to the cities of Stoke-on-Trent, Manchester, Chester, Liverpool, and Salford, Sandbach serves as a central hub within Cheshire.
