Dance Information

This reel, Scotland's Gardens, marks the Diamond Jubilee of Scotland's Gardens Scheme in 1991.

Scotland's Gardens Scheme was founded in 1931, before the creation of the National Health Service (NHS). It raised funds for the Queen's Nursing Institute Scotland, to help support the training and pensions of the Queen's Nurses.

In its first year over 250 gardens opened including Balmoral Castle, the Scottish residence of the British Royal Family. Our the years the charitable nature of the scheme has developed and expanded.

The gardens open for the scheme can be found at https://scotlandsgardens.org/
