Scottish Country Dance Instruction
SEAGREEN (S3x32) 3C set John Drewry Brodie Book1- 8 All set, 1M and 3L petronella turn into centre (BtoB position), dance out through partner's place and cast to R into each other's place while 1L and 3M cast down/up to opposite end, petronella turn into centre (BtoB position) and dance out to opposite sides. (3)2(1)
9-16 All set, circle 6H round to left for 3 steps, dance in on 4th step and turn to right to dance round clockwise to (3)2(1)
17-24 Repeat bars 1- 8 with 1s+3s changing back to original places. 123
25-32 2s followed by 1s dance down between 3s, cast up (2s to top and 1s to 2nd place), 1s followed by 3s dance up between 2s and cast (1s to bottom and 3s to 2nd place) 231

Strathspey 3 x 32 bars 3 Couple Repeat 3 Couple Set Longwise Set
1-2 All take hands on the sides and set;
3-4 1L cast two places WHILE 3M cast up two places WHILE 1M 3L petronella turn to the centre line, finishing 1M facing up, 3L down;
5-6 1M 3L petronella turn to finish in partner's place facing out WHILE 3M 1L petronella turn to the centre line, finishing 3M facing up, 1L down;
7-8 1M cast two places WHILE 3L cast up two places WHILE 1M 3L petronella turn to the side lines, finishing 3s2s1s, 3s 1s on opposite sides;
9-10 all take hands on the sides and set;
11-13 all dance 6 hands round to the left;
14-14 all advance, release hands and pull right shoulder back to finish facing clockwise;
15-16 all dance out on a spiral path to finish as at bar 8;
17-24 repeat bars 1-8 to finish in original places;
25-28 taking nearer hands, 2s followed by 1s lead down between 3s and cast up on own sides, finishing 2s1s3s;
29-32 taking nearer hands, 1s followed by 3s lead up between 2s (at the top) and cast on own sides, finishing 2s3s1s.

Dance Notes
3-8 Make this a continuous, flowing movement, finishing with 1s 3s having exchanged places, diagonally.
11-16 2s, starting in their original places, must control this sequence so that all finish in their starting positions.
19-24 Make this a continuous, flowing movement, finishing with 1s 3s in original places.
