Scottish Country Dance Instruction
THE SIX-FIGURED MAN (J8x48) 3C (4C set) John Shaw Princess Bride Collection1- 8 1s+2s dance Espagnole but in bars 5-8 1s turn 1½ LH to face 1st corners:
1- 2 1s+2s cross (Ladies lead across RH passing between Men) with Ladies changing places RH
3- 4 1s+2s cross back (Men lead across RH between Ladies) with Men changing places RH
5- 8 2s turn RH as 1s turn 1½ LH to face 1st corners
9-16 1s dance a diagonal reel of 4 with 1st corners to finish facing 1st corners
17-24 1s set to 1st corners, cast back to their 3rd corner places while 1st corners set and dance into the centre to face their original positions. Repeat bars 17-20 with 1st corners setting and casting
25-32 1s dance diagonal reel of 4 with 2nd corners and finish facing 2nd corners
33-40 1s set to 2nd corners, cast back to their 4th corner places while 2nd corners set and dance into the centre to face their original positions. Repeat bars 33-36 with 2nd corners setting and casting. 2(1)3
41-48 2s+3s facing up/down the set, set and change places RH, then set to partners and cross LH to own sides while 1s dance out to their right, round 1st corner places and dance in the ends to face each other. All clap, 1s pull RSh back and dance out the same ends and cast to their right, back to 2nd places own sides
