THE SOUND OF HARRIS (R3x48) 3C set John Drewry Canadian Book

1- 8 1s set, cross down to face out joining hands with corners and Balance-in-Line, 1s turn 1st corners RH to form lines across 1L with 2s and 1M with 3s
9-16 All set and change places RH with opposite person; All set and ½ turn person opposite RH, 1L+3L+3M pull back RSh (twirl) to end 1s facing up in centre, 2s+3s facing down on sides
17-24 1s+2s+3s dance Tandem reel of 3 across (1M+1L facing up, 3L+2L and 3M+2M each pair dancing as 1 person), 1s end in centre 1M giving LH to 2M+3M and 1L RH to 2L+3L
25-32 Men dance LH across and Ladies RH across once round, continue but change places with partner when passing through centre (as Alison Rose)
33-40 1s followed by 3s+2s dance up, cross and cast to 231 and all turn partners RH
41-48 All circle 6H round and back

Hornpipe 3 x 48 bars 3 Couple Repeat 3 Couple Set Longwise Set

  1-4   1s set and cross down to face out between corners;

  5-6   2s1s3s set;

  7-8   1s turn first corners, finishing 2M1L2L facing 3M1M3L in lines across;

  9-10 1L with 2s, 1M with 3s set facing;

11-12 all cross by the right up and down;

13-16 repeat bars 9-12;

17-24 1L1M (up), 3L2L (down), 3M2M (down) tandem reel of 3 across;

25-28 Ls right hands across, Mn left hands across (on own sides);

29-32 repeat bars 25-28 with 1s followed by 3s and 2s changing wheels;

33-36 1s3s2s lead up, cross and cast, finishing 2s3s1s;

37-40 all turn partners by the right;

41-48 6 hands round and back.

Dance Notes

  3-10 This is the same as bars 1-8 of The Sailor.

    -16 3M and 3L stay facing down.

33-36 All must cross at the top.

37-40 Contingency time (4 bars for the turn).
