A STRATHSPEY FOR JOHN (S3x40) 3C set Ed Naughton 75 years of Dancing in St Andrews

1- 8 1s set, ½ turn 2H to finish facing up nearer hands joined; 1s cast (2s step up) and turn RH once round into Allemande hold facing down
9-16 1s dance down, turning to face up at end bar 12 (as in Gay Gordons); 1s dance up to 2nd place middle of set, releasing hands at end bar 16
17-24 2s+1s+3s dance mirror reels of 3 on sidelines giving hands where possible (1s dance out and up to start). 1s end facing 1st corners
25-32 1s+1st corners dance Corner pass and turn, 1s pass RSh; 1s+2nd corners dance Corner pass and turn, 1s pass RSh to 2nd place own side
33-36 1s+3s set, 1L casts off 1 place, and 3M casts up 1 place while 1M and 3L pass each other RSh and curve out to finish 1M in 3rd place and 3L in 2nd place. 231
37-40 3s+1s dance RH across once round. 231
