Scottish Country Dance Instruction

A Summer Party (R8x32) 3C (4C set) Keith Rose High Time 2018

1-4 1st and 2nd couples dance Set and Link
5-8 2nd, 1st and 3rd couples, with right hands, turn partners once round.
9-16 Turn or chase:
 Four dancers are chasing clockwise while the other two turn three quarters with right hands in the middle and rejoin the chase in the position where their partner would have been had they been chasing. 1st couple turn first, then first corners, second corners and then 1st couple again. When chasing, the whole set revolves 90 degrees, corners moving to the next corner position, 1st couple moving with and between them, occupying mid positions.
 9-10 1st couple turn three-quarters with right hands WHILE 2nd and 3rd couples chase clockwise one quarter to next corner position. Dancers are now all in lines across the dance, 2nd couple on women's side, 3rd couple on men's side. 1st woman is between 2nd and 3rd men in 2nd place, 1st man is between 2nd and 3rd women in 3rd place.
 11-12 1st corner people, (2nd man and 3rd woman, now in 2nd corner positions) turn three-quarters with right hands to end in first corner positions to rejoin the chase WHILE 1st couple and 2nd corner people chase clockwise one quarter. 1st couple are now in 2nd position on own sides.
 13-14 2nd corner people, (3rd man and 2nd woman, now in 4th corner positions) turn three-quarters with right hands to 3rd corner positions and rejoin the chase WHILE 1st couple and 1st corner people chase clockwise one quarter. 1st man is now in the middle of the dance in 2nd place, and 1st woman in 3rd place.
 15-16 1st couple turn three-quarters with right hands to 2nd place on own sides, while 2nd and 3rd couples chase clockwise one quarter. All dancers are back on the sides of the dance in the order: 312 with 3rd and 2nd couples on opposite sides.
17-20 1st couple with 3rd woman and 2nd man dance half diagonal rights and lefts. 1st woman starting by dancing diagonally up and 1st man diagonally down.
21-24 All dance 6 hands round to the left.
25-28 1st couple with 2nd woman and 3rd man dance half diagonal rights and lefts. 1st woman again starting by dancing diagonally up and 1st man diagonally down.
28-32 All dance 6 hands round to the right.

Repeat, having passed a couple.
