The Teacher's Pet - Scottish Country Dancing Instruction VideoDance Information
This dance was devised by Bill Forbes for his daughter, Sheena. The phrase "the teacher's pet" is an idiom used to describe a student who is perceived as the teacher's favorite or someone who receives preferential treatment from the teacher. This term is often used in a school or classroom setting.
A "teacher's pet" is typically a student who is diligent, well-behaved, and consistently performs well academically. As a result, the teacher may show them extra attention, praise, or favours. This can lead to a perception among other students that the teacher has a special affinity for that particular individual.
The term is not always used in a positive light. Some students may view the teacher's pet negatively, believing that they gain advantages or privileges unfairly. On the other hand, the teacher may genuinely appreciate the student's hard work and positive attitude, intending to encourage and reward their dedication to learning.
