Dance Information
The Union Canal is a historic canal in Scotland, running 31 miles (50 km) from Edinburgh to the Falkirk area.First opened in 1822, it was primarily used to transport coal and other goods. The canal is notable for being a contour canal, meaning it was constructed to follow the natural landscape, avoiding the need for locks until its connection with the Forth and Clyde Canal at the Falkirk Wheel, a rotating boat lift.
Today, it's a popular route for leisure activities like boating, walking, and cycling.
