Scottish Country Dance Instruction

Alan's Romp (J8x32) A 32 bar jig for three couples in a four couple longwise set. Murrough Landon, 2018

1-4 1st couple turn by the right hand and cast off one place to face their 1st corners as 2nd couple step up.
5-8 1st couple turn their 1st corners by the right hand and pass partner right shoulder to end on the centre line with 1st man above 1st woman.
9-12 1st man with 2nd couple and 1st woman with 3rd couple dance left hands across. 1st couple end facing their 2nd corners.
13-16 1st couple dance half a diagonal reel of four with their 2nd corners, starting by passing left shoulder and ending facing the same person.
17-20 1st couple turn their 2nd corner person by the left hand and pass partner left shoulder to end on the centre line with 1st man above 1st woman.
21-24 1st man with the other two men and 1st woman with the other two women dance right hands across. 1st couple end facing their 3rd corners.
25-28 1st couple dance half a diagonal reel of four with their 3rd corners, starting by passing right shoulder and ending in 2nd place opposite sides.
29-32 All three couples chase clockwise half way round the set to end in the order 213.
