Autumn brings a transformation in the leaves of deciduous trees as they shift from green to vibrant hues of red, yellow, and orange.
This colour change happens when the trees stop producing chlorophyll, allowing other pigments to emerge. The timing and intensity of these colours depend on weather conditions such as temperature and sunlight. As the season progresses, a separation layer forms at the base of each leaf stem, eventually causing the leaves to fall.
Once on the ground, they contribute to the natural cycle by decomposing and replenishing the soil with nutrients, benefiting the surrounding plant and animal life.
