Dance Notes

Confusion may arise in understanding bars 5-8 from familiarity with the superficially similar four bars in The Bees Of Maggieknockater and Cullen Skink. Those have full right hands across and each L turns on the spot to take promenade hold with the M who was behind her in the hands across; in this dance, she takes promenade hold with the M in front and so must speed up slightly while he holds back. Although these four bars are a continuously flowing movement, it is simplest to describe them as:

5-6   4s1s right hands across halfway, finishing (without returning to the sidelines) 4M1L  4L1M in promenade hold, facing in.

7-8   Giving right shoulders, 4M1L  4L1M cross to finish facing out, 4M1L on the Ls' side, 4L1M on the Mn's.
