The Duke And Duchess Of Cambridge (R8x40) 3C (4C set) Lewis N Derrick 2011

1-8 The 1st couple set, then taking nearer hands dance down two places, divide below the 3rd couple and cast up one place on own sides; the 2nd couple step up on bars 7-8
9-16 Giving left shoulder to their first corners to begin the 1st couple dance reels of three across; 1st woman with the 2nd couple and 1st man with the 3rd couple, the 1st couple end in second place on own sides
17-24 The 2nd, 1st and 3rd couples dance six hands round and back
25-28 Giving right hands, the 1st couple cross over in second place and cast round their first corners to end in the middle, the woman between the 2nd couple facing down and the man between the 3rd couple facing up
29-32 The 1st couple turn one and a half times with the right hand
33-36 The 1st man with the 2nd couple and the 1st woman with the 3rd couple dance left hands across, 1st couple pass by the left
37-40 The 1st man with the 3rd couple and the 1st woman with the 2nd couple dance right hands across, 1st couple end in second place own sides

This reel, The Duke And Duchess Of Cambridge, was devised by Lewis Derrick as a 'stable mate' to the popular 'royal wedding dance' The Duke and Duchess of Edinburgh and commemorates the marriage of HRH Prince William of Wales and Catherine Middleton on 29 April 2011, when the prince was granted the Dukedom of Cambridge.

Suggested tune: The Left-Handed Fiddler.

Prince William, Duke of Cambridge, KG, KT, PC, ADC (William Arthur Philip Louis; born 21 June 1982) is a member of the British royal family. He is the elder son of Charles, Prince of Wales, and Diana, Princess of Wales. Since birth, he has been second in the line of succession to the British throne.

Catherine, Duchess of Cambridge, GCVO (born Catherine Elizabeth Middleton; 9 January 1982), is a member of the British royal family. Her husband, Prince William, Duke of Cambridge, is second in the line of succession to the British throne, making Catherine a likely future queen consort.
