Dance Information

This dance was devised by Theresa MacVarish Clark and published in '14 New Dances and Tunes Celebrating the Centenary of RSCDS Edinburgh Branch'.

It was created for a commemorative collection marking the hundredth anniversary of the Edinburgh Branch of the Royal Scottish Country Dance Society in 2024.

Theresa MacVarish Clark has long been involved with the RSCDS Edinburgh Branch as a member of its Demonstration Team, an active teacher, and the membership secretary. The dance reflects her many years of participation in the Branch's Annual Shows, which ran regularly from 1954 until 2011 and formed a significant element of its public programme.

The accompanying music is an original reel entitled 'Fancy That', composed by Pete Clark, Theresa's husband. Pete contributed as a musician to events organised by the Edinburgh Branch and first played for them in the 1990s, during the Annual Show entitled 'Dancing Forth'.
