Happy 70th
Scottish Country Dance Instruction
Happy 70th 32-bar reel for three couples in a four-couple longwise set. Simone Fox1-4 1st couple, giving right hands, cross over and cast into second place. 2nd couple step up on bars 3-4.
5-8 1st couple dance left hands across with 3rd couple. 1st woman finishes in the middle of the set, just below 2nd couple, facing 2nd man with 1st man behind her (also facing 2nd man).
9-16 1st couple dance tandem alternating reels of three with the 2nd couple, giving left shoulder to 2nd man to start. 1st woman finishes in the middle of the set facing 3rd man while 1st man loops around to finish back to back with his partner, facing 2nd woman (i.e. facing second corners).
17-24 1st couple dance a reel of four on the diagonal giving right shoulder to their second corners. 1st couple finish in second place on own sides.
25-32 2nd, 1st and 3rd couples dance six hands round and back.
Repeat, having passed a couple.

This dance was devised by Simone Fox and dedicated to Sandra Hanson, Kathryn Bourke and Richard Graylin of the Hunter Valley Branch, Gosford class, who all turned 70 in 2014.Bars 9 to 24 represent a "7", with the circle completing the "70" (bars 25-32).
