My Dear Oncologist - Scottish Country Dancing Instruction VideoDance Information
This jig, My Dear Oncologist, was devised for "My dear oncologist", the very first person I met from the oncology department in Chambéry Hospital, right after my diagnosis of a "cancer-type lesion" in my left lung. I was transferred from the emergency department to oncology and was then warmly welcomed by that young woman. She was a house doctor finishing her 11 year medicine studies of which 5 had been spent in oncology, she had arrived in Chambéry hospital a few days before me and got her diploma in October 2021, prior to leaving Chambéry for another hospital in France.
I immediately had a good feeling and felt confident with her, which was very comforting in this shocking situation. I always felt really well looked after by her. So I wished to devise a dance for her, and since she used her hands a lot when talking, it's become a dance in which you use your hands all the time.
