Queen Victoria, born on May 24, 1819, ascended to the throne of the United Kingdom in 1837 and held the position until her death in 1901.She became the queen at the age of 18, following the death of her uncle, King William IV. Victoria's reign, known as the Victorian era, is one of the longest in British history, spanning 63 years.
Queen Victoria married her first cousin, Prince Albert of Saxe-Coburg and Gotha, in 1840. The couple had nine children and played a pivotal role in shaping the modern British monarchy. During her reign, the British Empire expanded significantly, becoming the largest empire in history at the time.
Queen Victoria's reign witnessed notable social, economic, and technological changes, including the Industrial Revolution and the expansion of railways. Her influence extended beyond the United Kingdom, as she was also the Empress of India from 1876 until her death.
Queen Victoria's death in 1901 marked the end of the Victorian era and the beginning of the Edwardian era.
