Scottish Country Dance Instruction

The Saltire Saint (J8x40) 3C (4C set) Lewis N Derrick 1990

1-8 The 1st couple set and, giving nearer hands, dance down, turn in, dance up and cast off into second place, the 2nd couple step up on bars 7-8
9-16 Giving right shoulders to their first corners begin the 1st couple dance a diagonal reel of four, ending back to back in the centre the 1st woman facing up, the 1st man facing down
17-24 Starting facing up and down on the centre line, the 2nd, 1st and 3rd couples dance double triangles, ending as on bar 16
25-32 Giving right shoulders to their fourth corners begin the 1st couple dance a diagonal reel of four, ending back to back in the centre the 1st woman facing up, the 1st man facing down
33-36 Right hands across, the 1st woman with the 2nd couple, the 1st man with the 3rd couple, the first couple pass right shoulders at end
37-40 Left hands across, the 1st man with the 2nd couple, the 1st woman with the 3rd couple, the first couple end in second place own sides
