THE WALNUT ORCHARD (R8x32) 3C (4C set) Anne Dejean Walnut Book1- 8 1s dance down between 2s, cast back to place; 1s dance down between 3s, cast up to 2nd place (2s step up 7-8)
9-16 2s+1s+3s dance mirror reels of 3 on sides giving hands (1s in/up to start, corners loop into place). 1s end in centre joining RH with partner, LH with 3rd corner
17-24 1s dance the Spoke: 1s Balance-in-Line with 3rd corners, then 2nd, 1st and 4th corners. 1s end in 2nd place own side
25-32 2s+1s+3s circle 6H round and back

32-bar reel for three couples in a four-couple longwise set
1 - 8 1st couple dance down between 2nd couple, cast up back to places, then dance down between 3rd couple and cast up into second place, 2nd couple step up on bars 7-8.
9 - 16 2nd, 1st and 3rd couples dance mirror reels of 3 on the sides, 1s couple dance in and up to begin, and finish in the middle of the set, taking partner's right hand and giving left hands to third corners. Corners finish the reels with a loop.
All couples give hands when possible during the reels.
17 - 24 1st couple dance the spoke clockwise, and finish in second place on their own sides.
25 - 32 2nd, 1st and 3rd couples dance six hands round and back.
Repeat, having passed a couple.

This reel, The Walnut Orchard, was devised in March 2018.There are plenty of walnut orchards in the area of Grenoble, northwards up to Chambéry and southwards down to Valence. It is quite typical in the landscape all along the Isère valley.
